About Us

  Black Girl Disney was created in 2018 by Disney loving friends Dominique and Mia!  As Disney fans in the earlier days of Instagram, we followed every Disney style, blogger, and merch pages we could find.  The theme of majority of the pages….melanin deficient.  

     After coming home from an all girls trip to DisneyWorld, eager to share our adventures, the #blackgirldisney hashtag was created!! 

     Like Most things that lack representation, new platforms are created out of a necessity to see yourself.  We wanted to create a space where we were not only represented, but CENTERED! As a result, @BlackGirlDisney was born! 

  The natural kinds, curls, coils, locs, braids, braid pattens, nails, swag and melanin will forever be celebrated on the @BlackGirlDisney platform.  

    Thank you to everyone in the Disney community who has ever used our hashtag, it has brought so many people into our lives personally and we will never have enough Thank You’s for your support!
